John Terry 'privileged' to back special school

FARNHAM and Camberley students had a surprise visit from footballer John Terry on Thursday, when the Chelsea and England captain turned up at The Abbey School.

The youngsters only found out he was coming the day before and Chris Gardiner, head teacher of the school, said they were “very excited” about meeting the footballing star.

The school that supports children with special needs hosted the event organised by the Children with Special Needs Foundation, to present a full-sized replica of the FA Cup for use in a new football competition.

The tournament will be exclusively for special schools in Surrey and north-east Hampshire.
