HOME INFORMATION PACKS
It is Now a legal requirement to have a Home Information Pack (HIP) when selling your property In England and Wales
The Home Information Pack (HIP) is compulsory for all homes on the market in England and Wales and from the 6th April 2009, important changes are being made to Home Information Packs. This means better information will be available from the first day a property is put on the market.
Put simply a Home Information Pack is a pack of information about a property being offered for sale. Under the new rules, a HIP will be required once a qualifying property comes onto the market.
Waterfords have been offering Home Information Packs (HIP) for over 4 Years and have a wealth of experience in the management of Home Information Packs. The idea behind HIPs is to give buyers access to more information about the property they intend to buy at the outset so they can make more informed decisions - leading to fewer delays and aborted sales.
When you instruct us to sell your home, we will arrange your Home Information Pack, and ensure it is compliant and available for prospective viewers and buyers. We anticipate that a Home Information Pack will be available within days thus ensuring we can get your marketing off to the best start possible. At Waterfords, we have negotiated a number of different options for sellers to meet the cost of the packs and we would welcome the chance to review these with you when we conduct your market appraisal.
You can find out more information about HIPs on our Information page or, if you have a specific question you can contact us directly. Alternatively the Government website for HIPs is an excellent source of information.

The Property Information Questionnaire (PIQ)
All Home Information Packs produced after the 6th April 2009 must include a PIQ. The document has been designed to be easy for sellers to complete without professional help and will provide buyers with basic, useful information about a property that will help to inform their decision to view a property or make an offer.
