Early Adopter of HIPS
2-March-2007
With just three months to go till HIPS (Home Information Packs) become obligatory, Waterfords Estate Agents are welcoming the Government’s new bid to make buying and selling property quicker and more transparent.
Waterfords, which has offices in Hampshire, Surrey and
MD Brendan Cox is a fan and he points to one happy client. Miss Anette (correct) Geertsen (correct) bought her property in December with the help of a Waterfords HIPS pack (provided by NOW).
She says: ”It went really well for us as it gave us so much information. That helped before the process of actually putting in an offer. You get the information up front and it certainly made things go more quickly.”
“The old system of buying and selling property needed a big overhaul,“ says Cox. “A lot of aspects of HIPS do actually work well, despite all the rumblings from the media and some other estate agents.
“The packs speed up the whole process and this will improve the current situation when everyone is in the loop and has to abide by the same rules. Our trial with NOW HIPS continues apace and is going very well.
“Waterfords are ready after banging this drum for two years and certainly our clients have benefited, as you can see from what Annette says.”
