"Is the grass always greener?"
22-June-2009
Whilst not all buyers want big gardens, it's fair to say that it's high on the priority list of most house buyers, perhaps a nice outlook or seclusion is more important than size.
There are the obvious benefits to a good size plot, such as space for the kids to play & scope to extend the property at a later stage. With so many gardening & life style programmes on TV, I think people have gained inspiration & vision & look forward to the prospect of putting their own mark on the garden, seeing the end result can be very rewarding.
However be realistic on what you take on, whilst large gardens are lovely to sit out in on a beautiful summers day, sipping a chilled glass of your favourite 'Chablis', they also require a big investment of time, not only to get them into shape, but keeping them maintained, for this reason you need to consider carefully your other commitments before taking on that 1 acre plot!
