THE WATERFORDS CYCLIST TAKE TO THE ROAD AGAIN !

A team from Waterfords Estate Agents, based in Fleet, once again took to the pedals in a sponsored cycle ride around their offices for Charity last saturday. As supporters of the “Children With Special Needs “ charity for a number of years they decided to try to cycle around their 6 offices across three counties, Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire, in one day.
Last year, a team from Waterfords made the epic trip from Chobham to Paris by bike over a four day period and in the process managed to raise over £25,000 for two charities, “The Royal Marsden Cancer Fund” and “Children with Special Needs”. Sean Wickes, Financial Services Director for Waterfords was one of the riders and commented “ Having done the trip last year to Paris covering 275 miles, I am delighted to be able to do another ride for charity and to be able to support such a great charity as CWSN. We have thoroughly enjoyed the ride last year and only had one puncture the whole way which was a miracle in itself.”
The riders set off from their Chobham office in Surrey on Saturday 5th September 2009 and headed off to Sunningdale in Berkshire, before the trip back into Surrey and Bagshot and Camberley, before entering Hampshire for the final leg through Yateley and finally ending in Fleet.
A tired and very satisfied Brendan Cox (MD) commented “ It is fabulous to get behind such a great cause as Children With Special Needs and to support the work Gordon Parris and his team do. Only question, who put the hill in Jenkins Hill in Bagshot !!”
