Waterfords give away more than 30,000 low-energy light bulbs.

10-December-2009

Fleet, Hampshire, 12th October 2009. Waterfords estate agents are giving away 32,000 low-energy light bulbs.

The green initiative is designed to help the environment and also to help people sell and let their properties.

Waterfords, the independent estate agents with offices in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire, will give owners of every house they visit a dozen eco-friendly light bulbs to replace the existing high-energy ones, which are being fazed out by the government.

“We care a lot about the environment,” says managing director, Brendan Cox, “and that’s why we’re doing this. Also you need a Home Information Pack to sell or let your property and that contains an Energy Performance Certificate.

“Having these low-energy bulbs will improve your rating on the Certificate and your chances of selling or letting. At Waterfords we’re all very conscious of headlines like this week’s ‘Met Office warns of catastrophic warming in our life-time.’  So we want to do our bit to reduce our energy use and global warming.

“Another advantage of this scheme is that these light bulbs will cut energy bills, so everyone wins: the property seller, the buyer and the environment.”

Waterfords have stocked up with a massive 32,000 eco-friendly bulbs and estimate that each give-away of 12 bulbs is worth £60.00 to prospective clients.
