Meet the team: Sam Charlton, Lettings Director

“Hi I’m Sam and I joined the Waterfords Estate Agents team in 2017. I’m the Lettings Director and predominantly work from the Fleet branch. I run the Waterfords 5-aside football club where all staff are welcome to play on a weekly basis, building friendships and team spirit within in the company.

I met my wife, Sophie, while we were both working at Waterfords. Since then, we have bought our first home together in the Pondtail area of Fleet and have a daughter called Willow. Since Willow came along, Sophie runs her own Fleet based beauty business; ‘Skin by Sophie’.

Sophie and I both love living in Fleet as it is close to family and friends and where I grew up in Wokingham. It's also near Sophie's family too so it's ideal. We love the fantastic local pubs like The Heron on The Lake near Fleet Station and The Foresters in Church Crookham. The Heron on The Lake is where we had our first date, so it is close to our hearts. We also really enjoy all the beautiful countryside around Fleet, which is perfect for walking our dog. Some of our favourite local walks include Velmead Woods and Fleet Pond, to name just two.

When family commitments allow, I am also a keen golfer and attend the local gym in Fleet town centre most mornings before opening the office at 8.30am.

Fun fact: During the first national lockdown when estate agents were not permitted to open, I found myself with lots of spare time so decided to build my own summer house with its very own bar. It has certainly seen lots of use during lockdown!”
