Following a superb year, it was time to recognise and reward those who have gone above and beyond for Waterfords and its customers. The annual award winners were rewarded with a luxury weekend on the Sunborn Hotel in Gibraltar, a unique luxurious purpose-built 5 star yacht hotel moored in the vibrant Ocean Village Marina.
It was an incredibly early start on Friday 27th April, meeting at 5am at Heathrow Terminal 3 for their flight with British Airways. Things were already off to interesting start, with two of the party deciding to turn up to Terminal 5 instead!
However, the whole Waterfords crew did manage to board the correct flight on time in the end, where they indulged in much-needed bacon rolls and champagne to get the celebrations started!
On arrival in Gibraltar, the Waterfords Winners walked from the airport to the Sunborn Gibraltar Hotel, in an attempt to wake up and get the party started. It was very interesting to walk across the live runway, something none of the Waterfords crew had experienced before…
After a very pleasant lunch in the Mediterranean sunshine on the harbour side it was time to check in and the Waterfords crew were delighted that they each had their very own gorgeous cabin with ocean views.
Then it was up to the pool deck for sunbathing, swimming, mingling and cocktails. They indulged in the unusually hot weather for this time of year and hunkered-down with cocktails by the pool for the afternoon.
After freshening up (and a few nano-naps) in their luxurious cabins, the winners headed to a gorgeous steak restaurant in Ocean Village Marina and then onto a selection of bars, casinos and clubs to party throughout the night. Some got to bed a lot later than others, but we are happy to report that everyone made it to the delicious hotel breakfast the following morning. This was very much needed to fuel the day of shopping and sauntering ahead before flying home.
