Waterfords sponsor Phyllis Tuckwell Charity Golf Day

Waterfords Estate Agents, with branches in Camberley, Chobham, Fleet and Yateley are delighted to be sponsoring the annual charity golf day for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. The event will take place on Saturday 7^th August at Blacknest Golf Club just outside Farnham.

The annual golf day is generously organised by two local friends, Joe Castles and Martin Hayes. This will be the pair’s fifth charity golf day for the local hospice and so far, the duo have raised over £25,000. Participants pay a fee that includes an 18 hole game, coffee, breakfast and a barbeque. The game is then followed by a raffle and auction to raise further vital funds for the hospice.

Phyllis Tuckwell is the only hospice care service for adult patients and their families, living with cancer or another advanced or terminal illness (such as heart, lung or neurological disease) across the whole of West Surrey and parts of North East Hampshire. The government/NHS only provide 20% of the charity’s income and the rest comes from fundraising.

“Everyone in Surrey and Hampshire knows the fantastic service that Phyllis Tuckwell provide for our community and I was shocked to learn that the hospice requires over £20,000 per day just to keep the lights on. It really inspired myself and the team at Waterfords to support such an important cause that has helped so many in our community.

After being one of the players at the event in 2020, I’m delighted that Waterfords is one of the main sponsors this year and look forward to taking part once again!”
